Tableau Server: Datasource XYZ doesn't exist

Symptom: your extraction job fails as a Tableau datasource does not exist:

Reason:  you are trying to append to a datasource that does not exist.

Solution: First start an initial description with Upload Mode 1 (create new data source). After it is finished, you can change the data extraction to have Upload Mode 2 (append).
